Issue:
Unable to save a project back from Microsoft Project (MSP) to PPM. The following error is received when attempting to save "One or more duplicate resources found in Microsoft Project. Cannot save."
Cause:
One reason this happens is if resources are added to the project in MSP. MSP will automatically generate the 'Initials' for the resource as the first letter of the resource names which creates duplicates if you have resources on the team with the same first letter.
Resolution:
In MSP, go to the 'Resource Sheet' view and check to make sure there are no duplicate values for the 'Initials' column. This field maps to the Resource ID field in PPM and must be unique on the project. For any duplicates, correct the values to the correct 'Resource ID' from PPM.
