Problem:

MSMTC startup fails with

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JVMJZBL1006I PWD =
JVMJZBL2999W Could not set current directory to:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Environment:
z/OS

Cause:

The userid being used to start MSMTC did not have an OMVS segment defined.
The userid that is used to start MSMTC must have an OMVS segment defined and that OMVS must
have a home directory that has a file system mounted to it as read/write.
The MSMTC joblogs show that PWD= is blank. This means that that there is no HOME directory set.
PWD is obtained from the Unix System Services (OMVS) HOME directory set in the OMVS segment for the userid

Resolution

Consult your site security administrator. They need to define the userid that is used to startup MSMTC with the proper authority and setup.

This is fully explained in the CA CSM Site Preparation Guide, Chapter 3: CA CSM Associated Security IDs
