MQMEM value remains high

Issue:
In the AWI > Administration > Automation Engine Management > Database the MQMEM does not decrease anymore.

This may happen after a transient performance issue.

Workaround:

The only way to remove the entries from the MQMEM table is to do a Cold Start.
Due to the structure of the the MQMEM table it is very time consuming  to determine which entries are old and obsolete and which are recent.

In general, if the number of the entries in the MQMEM table is high but stable and does not hamper the system performance, we recommend to do the Cold Start during the next scheduled maintenance.

The procedure is as follows:
- Stop the system as usual
- Set STARTMODE=COLD in ucsrv.ini (if applicable: on only 1 of the cluster nodes)
- Restart the system
