Models that support VSS and vPC are not showing properly in CA Spectrum 10.0

Issue: After upgrading to CA Spectrum 10.0, Cisco models that support VSS and/or vPC are not showing support for VSS and/or vPC.  This document only applies to upgrades in which models were created in a previous version of Spectrum.  If you discovered devices after upgrading to version 10.0, this document does not apply to you.


Solution:  After upgrading to CA Spectrum 10.0, the Cisco device models that support vPC need to be reconfigured.  Cisco device models that support VSS must be destroyed and recreated.  Models that were created prior to installing CA Spectrum 10.0 will not have the required CiscoVSSApp or ciscoVPCApp as this functionality was added in CA Spectrum 10.0.  In order for CA Spectrum to re-read the device's config to create these application models, you need to reconfigure or rediscover the models.  To reconfigure the vPC models, this can be done by either;

1.  Right click the device model in CA Spectrum and select Reconfiguration->Reconfigure Model


2.  Use the Discovery window and run a discovery that will rediscover those models (if you choose to use a scheduled discovery, make sure that you select the check box to enable the option to "Discover Connections During Scheduled Discovery").


After successfully reconfiguring or rediscovering, the CiscoVSSApp or ciscoVPCApp will be created and the information will now be displayed/available in the CA OneClick console.
