Introduction

This document is intended to outline the migration steps for SLMO when you wish to move your database from INGRESII to MSSQL 2000, this migration should relate to MSSQL 7.0 also but it does focus on SQL2000 only.

It should also be noted that this is not a fully tested migration path, and issues could arise due to environmental constraints, such as security or application customisations.

This document only covers one migration method, using the INGRESII ODBC drivers, via a File DSN.

Note: This document assumes you have installed SLMO and it is using SQL server as its Database Engine.

Installation of the INGRES/Net client on the MSSQL Server

To migrate the INGRESII database to SQL we will first need to install the INGRES/Net client and then the updated ODBC drivers.

Migrating Reports
Copy the following directory from the old SLMO server I am assuming that it is an NT system.

C:\Program Files\CA\Unicenter SLM\reports\*.* to your SLMO server.

Your reports should work fine from here on.
