"Message 0: Error occurred while trying to complete request. (12)" is returned as user attempts to access Target Servers via CA PAM

Introduction:

After CA PAM is upgraded to 2.6 release, users are prompted with following error as they attempt to access any Target Servers via CA PAM:
Message 0: Error occurred while trying to complete request. (12)

Instructions:

Steps to resolve the error:

  1. Login to CA PAM
  2. Navigate to Config >> Security, 'Sign Xsuite Applets' panel
  3. Click on 'Sign Applets with Certificate'
  4. Log out from the CA PAM session
  5. Clear Java cache
  6. Re-login to CA PAM

For browser-based Administrative UI, please remove browser cached contents/data in addition to the above steps.
