Introduction:

While planning to deploy CA Spectrum in a large environment, start by understanding how CA Spectrum scales to manage larger environments. Scaling is achieved primarily by adding SpectroSERVER instances, spreading the workload by splitting the monitored infrastructure among these servers.

Environment:
Spectrum 9.4.x
Instructions:

General Recommendation or the rule of thumb is between 2000 and 2500 managed device models or 200000 models by a single 9.4 SpectroSERVER.

There are two main factors while considering the capacity:

  1. The hardware (amount of memory, speed of processor, number of processors disk speed, and bus speed)
  2. What you are doing with your Spectrum database. How many integrations, number of Global Collections, number of SpectroWatches, number of users, number of OneClick systems, polling intervals, number of traps per second processed, etc

Running the sizing wizard can help you determine the total number of advisable models.
