Issue:
Job Variants failing - variant names are cut to 14 characters in the error message.
Resolution:

Symptoms

When running SAP jobs, under certain variants the job will fail and the error has the variant name cut to a maximum of 14 characters:

(The Variant as named in Automic is THIS_UC4_EXAMPLE_JOB)

U2000003 Job '<job>' was started with '<RunID>'.
U2004081 Error in function 'BAPI_XBP_JOB_ADD_ABAP_STEP': 'Variant THIS_UC4_EXAMP for report '<report>' does not exist', Type: 'E', ID:'XM', number: '262'
U2004000 Could not create job step with report '<report>' and variant 'THIS_UC4_EXAMPLE_JOB'.
U2000009 Job '<job>' with '<RunID>'. ended on return code '102'.
U2001026 Job '<job>' with '<RunID>' has been removed from the job table.

Cause

Automic will allow for 65 characters to be entered in for the name of an SAP Job Variant; however, the SAP table only allows for 14 characters - therefore SAP will report the Variant as not existing.

Resolution

Change the name of all variants to 14 characters.
