Question: Customer wants to understand the significance of MDB size option appears while installing MDB on oracle database.
Environment: ITCM MDB fresh install on oracle database.
MDB size refers to the initial table space sizes created during MDB installation. There are two table spaces created during MDB install, MDB_DATA and MDB_INDEX. Selection of table space size depends upon customer requirements and environment structure.
There are four options available to choose MDB_SIZE. Here are the details:
| MDB_SIZE || MDB_DATA (size in MB) || MDB_INDEX (size in MB) |
| Small || 400 || 100 |
| Medium || 600 || 200 |
| Large || 800 || 400 |
| Huge || 1000 || 600 |
- By default, MDB_SIZE will be medium.
- MDB_SIZE option is not valid for upgrade scenarios as table space will already be present and same will be used.
- Table spaces are created with AUTOEXTEND clause ON. Hence, during operations depending upon need table spaces will be increased automatically.
