Question:

When importing records from a CSV file containing an special character (Example: René) into our seed data table in  Datamaker, the special character is converted into the following format (Example: Ren¿hlers).

Is there a way to preserve the special/unicode characters?

Environment:
Datamaker - all versions
Answer:

When importing a file into a seed list, and in this case, a CSV file, you will need to make sure that the file is not in an ANSI format. Instead you will need to make sure the file is a UTF-8 format, since these characters belong to a unicode character set. Common text editors will allow you to save/covert your CSV file into a UTF-8 format.

Once you convert the CSV file to UTF-8, you will be able to import into Datamaker and preserve the unicode characters for your seedlists.
