Description:

I ran CAS9 to install an SMF exit routine for our CA product, but it seems the SMF exit is not working correctly... Is there any way to display the status of SMF exits installed using CAS9/CAIRIM?

Solution:

You can use CAISMFU utility to display the status of the SMF exit routines that have been installed by CAIRIM. CAISMFU verifies the current status of all installed SMF routines and provides a real-time display of status and total processing information pertaining to all SMF routines installed by CAIRIM.

Generally, output from CAISMFU will be as follows:

CAS9001I INTERFACE SUMMARY:
CAS9002I
CAS9003I NAME VERS DESCRIPTION STATUS
CAS9004I pgmname caid caidesc caistat
CAS9002I
CAS9005I NUMBER OF INTERFACES: nn NUMBER OF CALLS PROCESSED: nn

When CAISMFU is run, the following output may appear:

CAS9011I NO CAI PRODUCT INTERFACES PRESENT

This output means that CAIRIM has not been run, no SMF intercepts are present, or a problem has occurred. Check the CAIRIM System Requirements section of your product installation guide for information regarding the use of SMF exits by the product.

If there are no products installed that use SMF exits, this is a normal condition.

Refer to Administrator Guide for details on CAISMFU utility.
