Question:

Executing CA Log Analyzer for DB2 for z/OS (PLA) where the ARCHLOG1 dataset is migrated or not unavailable results in an allocation error. How to divert PLA to use the ARCHLOG2 backup / alternate archive logs instead?

Answer:

There is an option in highlvl.CDBAPARM member PLA to switch to ARCHLOG2 called LOGCOPY2.  When LOGCOPY2 is set to (Y) it will cause PLA to allocate COPY2 of DB2's active / archive logs before COPY1.
