Introduction:

REST Web Services option was enabled through pdm_configure and it is working fine. Development team is going to build Web Services to integrate Service Desk with third party applications, but they have background with Microsoft development environment and would like to build Web Services using the built-in languages associate to that environment.

Question:

Is Microsoft .Net supported for building Web Services on Service Desk?

Environment:

Service Desk 12.9

Service Desk 14.1

Answer:

CA Service Desk Manager has its own REST and Web Services API.

See the statement from Service Desk documentation:

"Developers use the REST API directly to send HTTP requests to the server for the resource they want to manipulate. Developers only need an HTTP client library, which is available with most programming languages. Because the REST API is based on open standards, you can use any Java programming language to access it."

See the complete documentation below:

CA SDM REST API

Microsoft .Net can also be used to access the SDM REST API.
