Introduction:

We have a use case of our network engineers want to measure interface latency and response time.

Question:

Is Latency a metric that CA Performance Management tracks at the interface level?

Environment:

CAPM 2.7 and greater

Redhat Linux

Answer:

If you know the topology and you want to ping, say, interface A to interface C or B, from device X, however many hops away it is, you could setup Rttmon Ping tests accordingly.
Then you could discover the response path(s) into CA Performance Management and generate reports/dashboards against it.

You can configure the IPSLA tests directly on the device and discover them or create them with CA Performance Management.
