Is it possible to execute a CA ITPAM/Process Automation Action within CA Service Desk Manager (CA SDM) when the task status is in a WAIT state?

Environment:
CA Service Desk Manager 12.9 or 14.1CA Process Automation
Answer:

The desired behavior is not possible out of the box.

When a CA SDM change order is saved, it executes a trigger that looks for tasks to begin.  

Editing and changing the task to a PENDING status will start the workflow process.
