Introduction:

Invalid socket errors appearing in the web or system logs.

Question:

Why do the eHealth web logs show errors regarding invalid socket messages and attempts to access nonexistent directories?

Environment:

All supported eHealth versions and their supported operating systems

Answer:

These messages appear because of periodic security scans.  These scans send HTTP packets to all open ports on the system, and eHealth doesn't understand them and is rejecting them. Any messages received around the same time as these should probably be ignored, as they all indicate the system is getting spammed by these scans.

Additional Information:

Error:"Pgm nhiXXXServer: Invalid socket message (invalid header key '0x123456789')."
