Description:

The following error appears when trying to install CA-MDM R12: "Invalid enterprise directory, please provide a valid enterprise directory"

Solution:

Confirm that the DC is not equal to * in the DNS path.

MDM would not accept this value; instead we will have to define the complete Path.
For example, if the Active Directory name is exchange.abc.com then the DNS path is DC=abc,DC=COM,CN or OU name depending on whether the user is part of a Organizational Unit or a Container.

If the DNS path is correct, then check if port 369 is used to connect to the Active Directory.
Try pinging the Active Directory server and then try a telnet to the Active Directory server using port 369.

If port 369 fails or is unavailable, try configuring port 389 to connect to the Active Directory.
