Intermittent approval task issues in CA IDM

The error "J2CA0206W: A connection error occurred.  To help determine the problem, enable the Diagnose Connection Usage option" is seen in the logs causing performance issues in our CA Identity Manager with WebSphere server. How can these errors be solved and performance improved?
Update the purgepolicy in CA Identity Manager WebSphere consoles to "EntirePool" or the issue goes away after restarting the JVMs.
