Introduction:

I'm in the process of installing R12 of CA-7, I had created a new datacom setup specifically for this CA-7.

When I went to load the converted database into the new datacom I got several times where the LXX area filled up and needed to be spilled.

The original LXX area was created with 2400 tracks, It appears that I will need to increase that amount.

Background:

Customer installing CA7 on a Development would like to increase LXX allocations.

Environment:
z/OS, CA&, CA Datacom/AD 15.0 (or 14.0).
Instructions:

In order to increase the LXX allocation follow these setps:

- 1 - Do a last SPILL before shutting down the Multi-User (MUF).

- 2 - Shut down the MUF via EOJ in a clean fashion (no error).

- 3 - Allocate new larger LXX and optionally FXX see CAAXSAMP(AXNEW01) Step ALLCDB

       //* ALLOCATE DATACOM CONTROL DATASETS

- 4 - INIT enlarged LXX and FXX see CAAXSAMP(AXNEW01) Steps LXXINIT and FXXINIT. (both need to be INITed).

       Note: see also CAAXSAMP(AD14LXXI or AD15LXXI) which does the same.

- 5 - Restart the Multi-User(MUF).
