|Installing CA-MLINK as a Service During Initial Installation
During the initial installation, you can optionally install CA-MLINK as a service. You can specify that CA-MLINK either starts in PCLOGIN mode or starts executing a CA-MLINK script you created.
Installing CA-MLINK as a Service After Initial Installation
- Create a new 'service.opt' by using 'mlink -c'. From the Configuration Menu choose the Miscellaneous Option and select Script Autoload, specify: pclogin -a7000 -glogfile.txt (for mlink to 'listen' on TCP port 7000)
Check in the Communications Options menu that the Communications Port is set to the required value (@TCPIP in this case).
Save the session as 'service.opt'.
- Install Mlink Service by using command srvinst,
eg: srvinst c:\mlink
- Make sure the System and the User Environment Variables PATH and MLINK are defined.
- Re-boot the machine to ensure that an mlink session does start successfully - i.e. listening with pclogin on the port that has been specified (you will be able to connect to this machine from another mlink session if everything is OK).
