Description:

Installing CA CSM with PROTOCOL=BOTH can result in ca.datacom.db.DBIOException: 15 TCP/IP connect failed

at startup if the TCPIP_HOST is incorrect or TCPIP_PORT is not available.

Solution:

PROTOCOL=BOTH can be changed to PROTOCOL=CCI without reinstalling. These are the steps to perform:

  1. In context.xml change ConnectType=BOTH to ConnectType=CCI. Set HostPort in context.xml to be the same as CCISSLPortNo in the SMSetupOptionsFile.properties.
Note that context.xml is located at /... /msmruntime/tomcat/conf and must be updated through ISPF 3.17.
select file context.xml with command ea.

  2. In the MSMDVSRV startup JCL refer to the SYSIN DD that points to HLQ.CUSMAC(SRVLIB). In this SRVLIB
    member change PROTOCOL=BOTH to PROTOCOL=CCI

  3. Update /.../MSMSetup/MSMSetupOptionsFile.properties changing PROTOCOL=BOTH to PROTOCOL=CCI

  4. Update /.../msm/CEGPHFS/MSMSetupOptionsFile.properties changing PROTOCOL=BOTH to PROTOCOL=CCI

  5. Start CA CSM.
