Installation failure for 17.1.0.1 roll-up patch SO03787 on Windows

Issue:
After unzipping the roll-up patch into a path including a directory name containing a space and running the installer from there, an exception error was received when the common installer attempted to run the ApplyPTF tool.

Environment:
CA Service Desk Manager 17.1 on Windows
Cause:
The path includes a space.
Resolution:
Ensure that the patch is not stored in a path with a space. 

For example, you could unzip the patch into this path:
C:\CASM-17.1.0.1-CommonPatchInstaller-Win 

But, do not use this path which has a space between '17.1.0.1' and 'CommonPatchInstaller':
C:\CASM-17.1.0.1 CommonPatchInstaller-Win
