Question:
Receiving the following message  when installing the APM Infrastructure Agent:

"You (account_name) are not allowed to use this program (crontab)
See crontab(1) for more information
Entry in crontab is not created, Installation failed."

We do not have root access and will not be granted root permissions. Is there a way around this or will there be a manual installer?
Environment:
APM 10.7 and later
Answer:
At this time, APM Infrastructure Agent does not require root or sudo for installation.
The issue proved to be that a service account to run cron was needed. Once that was used, the installation could take place.

You could also use the force_start install option instead to run the Infrastructure Agent without the cron service.
