Question:
What happens when one updates a CHG Category Workflow task to inactive status in terms of existing, in-flight CO's created under the given change category?
Answer:
SDM product design does not modify existing in-flight CO's that were created prior to a change introduced in the given change category's workflow.   This is due to the high variability of workflow task changes that could be affected in a given category, such as inclusion of new workflows as well as removal/inactivation of existing tasks.

Recommendation is to treat the in-flight CO under the conditions of the older workflow design, and in the case of an inactivated WF task, have an appropriate end user perform the role of the approver, including a remark that the given task is no longer valid and offers no further value or contribution to the CO.
