Question:

In CA 7, what if a job is in the request queue and will not submit?

Answer:

If the job has outstanding requirements, it will not be submitted until the master requirement count is zero. Do an XRQ,JOB=jobname/jobnumber to view or post outstanding requirements. If the master requirement count is zero and it will not submit, then there is either another job is in the ready or active queue with the same job name, or the request queue is stopped. Do a /DISPLAY,PR=SCH command to check the status of the request queue.  If the job is in the ready queue, check the SUB/START DATE/TIME--if it says *NONE*, then do an LRDYP,JOB=jobname/CA 7 jobnumber and a non-submittal reason should be displayed.  If there is a date and time in this field, the job was submitted to JES at that time.
