Issue:

A job entered the CA 7 queue 700 times while upgrading CA 7 from one environment to other environment.  Attempted to cancel the jobs with: CANCEL,JOB=PLS$850D,REASON=SKELLETON,FORCE=YES
Got this message: SPO6-12 - cannot cancel job = PLS$850D - DUPLICATE JOBNAMES

Cause:

More than one job with the same name in the queues.

Resolution:

When there is more than one job in the queues with the same job name, you must do the CANCEL command by CA 7 job number (one at a time). You can do an XQ,JOB=jobname,FILL=C to bring back the XQJ screen with a C in front of the jobs that you want to cancel, but IF those jobs are in SKELETON status, then you must perform the CANCEL one at a time by CA 7 job number.

Additional Information:

As always, please contact CA Technologies support for CA 7 if you have further questions.
