Adobe recently announced that it planning to end-of-life (EOL) Flash, specifically to stop updating and distributing the Flash Player by the end of 2020.
Adobe Flash is a multimedia software platform used to create animated content that can be placed on web pages and Adobe Flash Player is a software used to stream and view the content created by Adobe Flash.
Adobe Flash is likely to be replaced by open standards such as HTML5, WebGL and WebAssembly, which offer the same capabilities and functionalities. Adobe will continue to support Flash through 2020, on a number of major operating system (OS) and browsers that currently support Flash content. This will include issuing regular security patches, maintaining OS and browser compatibility, including adding of features and capabilities when needed.”
