CA PPM: If you change the Display Mapping of attribute Priority and Display Type (attribute of Idea, Project Objects) you will see duplicates values. You also get Error ODF-0231 when attempting to revert the changes.

Issue:

You see duplicates values if you change the Display Mapping of attribute Priority and Display Type (attribute of Idea, Project Objects) and get Error ODF-0231 when attempting to revert the changes.

 

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Object Idea.

Attribute: Priority

OOTB settings:

Default Value=0

Display Mapping:

White / High Priority 0 12

Green /Medium Priority 12 24

Red / Low Priority 24 36

 

2. Views - List Filter

Layout Add Priority

Field. Change Display Type= Display Range Pull-down

 

3. Go to Idea List.

Check Filter 'Priority'.

It shows 3 values: High Priority, Medium Priority, Low Priority

Looks OK.

 

4. Modify the mapping in the attributes to:

White / High Priority 0 13

Green /Medium Priority 13 25

Red / Low Priority 25 36

 

5. Go to Idea List.

Check Filter 'Priority'.

 

Actual Result:  

It shows duplicate values:

High Priority

High Priority

Low Priority

Low Priority

Medium Priority

Medium Priority

 

Expected Result:  

It should no show duplicate values. It should only show 3 values: High Priority, Medium Priority, Low Priority

 

6. Views - List Filter

Field. Priority. Change Display Type=Display Color Pull-down

 

7. Go to Idea List.

Check Filter 'Priority'.

 

Actual Result:  

It shows all colors: Black, Blue, Brown, Green, Gray, Pink, Purple, Red, White, Yellow

 

Expected Result:  

It should only show the colors defined in the Display Mapping: White, Green, Red

 

8. Object Idea.

Attribute: Priority

Try to change the Display Mapping to the Original values:

White / High Priority 0 12

Green /Medium Priority 12 24

Red / Low Priority 24 36

 

Actual Result:  

You get error 'Error ODF-0231: Serious error on inserting or updating object attribute, contact system administrator'

 

Expected Result:  

You should be able to change the Display Mapping to the Original values

Cause:
This is caused by a known defect DE28430
Resolution:
Defect DE28430 has been addressed in 15.4.
