Question:

We received an ICH408I error below when trying to run a job. A shortened version is below of the message:

ICH408I INSUFFICIENT ACCESS AUTHORITY

Next, we received an IEFTMS70 9YY-rc message after the ICH408I message.

What does this mean and how should we proceed forward?

Answer:
You first received an ICH408I message from IBM. Please review the IBM website for the ICH408I message below:

https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSGMCP_5.4.0/troubleshooting/dfht56o.html

INSUFFICIENT ACCESS AUTHORITY ACCESS INTENT(READ ) ACCESS ALLOWED(NONE )

Next, you received an IEFTMS70 9yy-rc violation. The return codes are 108, 112, 116, 120, 132, 136, 140, 144, and 148. They all entail a similar meaning that someone attempted to update the TMC and was not authorized.

Due to this error, you will need to contact your security administrator so they can review the insufficient access message above and decide on what needs to be done for the user or batch job that received the message.
