I cannot drill out of UIM into NFA after having NFA added as a Data Source to CAPC/NPC
You may see the error below when attempting to drill out of UIM into NFA.
An unknown error has occurred.
Refreshing your browser may resolve the issue.
com.firehunter.ump.exceptions.DataFactoryException : Unable to register user with NFA
java.lang.Exception: Unable to register user with NFA
nfa_inventory probe 8.3.1
Once NFA has been added to CAPC or NPC it will change the names and/or descriptions of some of the groups and roles in the database. This prevents UIM from being able to connect to NFA when attempting to connect via SSO.
1)Check the itemDesc for the groupid of 1 by logging into the reporter mysql database and running the query below:
mysql -P3308 reporter
select groupid, itemname, itemdesc from groups where itemname='All Groups' and groupid=1;
2) The itemdesc mustt be: "Includes every group and item type defined within Network Flow Analysis.". If it is not update the itemdesc to "Includes every group and item type defined within Network Flow Analysis." by running:
update groups set itemdesc='Includes every group and item type defined within Network Flow Analysis.' where itemname='All Groups' and groupid=1;
3)If it still fails, check the role that user you are trying to drill down with by going to Admin->Users and check the role, then go to Admin->Roles and make sure that role's name and description are the same.
For example the Administrator role's description, will get changed if NFA was added to CAPC.
Edit the role of the "Administrator" role and enter "Administrator" for the description.
