Question:

I am setting up an IBM application with external security requirements. These requirements are stated as RACF commands. How do I translate these to CA ACF2 Security for z/OS?

Answer:

The Appendix G: RACF Commands of the CA-ACF2 Security for z/OS Administrator Guide covers the ACF2 equivalent of RACF commands such as ADDUSER, PERMIT, RALTER, RDEFINE, and SETROPTS.

There is a translation guide in the Appendix G: RACF Commands of the CA-ACF2 Security for z/OS Administrator Guide, which offers pointers on what you need to do with RACF set-up to translate the RACF commands to the equivalent ACF2 commands. The following RACF commands are covered.

ADDGROUP LISTUSER ADDSD PASSWORD ADDUSER PERMIT ALTDSD RACDCERT ALTGROUP RALTER ALTUSER RDEFINE BLKUPD RDELETE CONNECT REMOVE DELDSD RLIST DELGROUP RVARY DELUSER SEARCH LISTDSD SETROPTS LISTGRP

If you need assistance in the translation of RACF commands or as an added check, you can open a support issue so that CA ACF2 Technical Support can assist you in the translation.
