Introduction:

You are currently running ENFIMUF or ENFXMUF, and running with a Datacom/AD 14.0 MUF to record event records. Here are two methods you can use to upgrade to Datacom/AD 15.0

If you are a new user and this is the first time you will be running CA ENF with a CA Datacom/AD database, follow Method #2.

Instructions:

Method #1 - Continue to use existing Datacom/AD Version 14.0 MUF environment with new Datacom/AD Version 15.0 executables

The following steps will follow the "Active MUF Upgrade" process as described in the Datacom/AD 15.0 documentation

1.  If not already installed, complete the SMP/E Installation of CA Datacom/AD 15.0 using either CA Chorus Software Manager (CSM) or SAMPJCL, and apply all maintenance.

> Please review Datacom/AD README RI88629 for minimum requirements.

2.  Customize and Submit member AXCUS00 in the CAAXSAMP to create the INSTJCL installation library

3.  Customize and Submit INSTJCL member AXAPFADD to apf-authorize the required Datacom/AD 15.0 libraries

4.  Customize and Submit INSTJCL member AXRIM01 to load Datacom PCCALL module

5.  Customize and Submit INSTJCL member AXCUSACT to create the "Active MUF Upgrade" INSTJCL installation library

6.  Customize and Submit ACT.INSTJCL member AXACTUPG to ASSEMBLE/LINK custom modules to custom libraries.

Note: For the source for DBSIDPR be sure to update CXXNAME= and DSN_XXX= so that these values are the same as those defined for the existing AD 14.0 environment. You can refer to your existing AD 14.0  CUSTOM CUSMAC(DBSIDPR) file for the values.

7.  Edit the existing ENF proc as it pertains to your setup

a) ENFIMUF - change references to the Datacom/AD 14.0 CAAXLOAD and CUSTOM CUSLIB to point to the new Datacom/AD 15.0 libraries

b) ENFXMUF - change references to the Datacom/AD 14.0 CAAXLOAD and CUSTOM CUSLIB to point to the new Datacom/AD 15.0 libraries

Note: It is recommended that the Version 14.0 startup options (AXDATIN1 and AXDATIN2) be used. Although the parameters in AXDATIN2 are not typically changed, you can change them as required to optimize MUF execution. Most CA Datacom®/AD sites do not need to modify AXDATIN2.

Whether running with an internal MUF (ENFIMUF) or and external MUF(ENFXMUF) you will be using the AD 15.0 custom CUSLIB and CAAXLOAD libraries, and the AD 14.0 custom database files (eg. CXX, LXX, FXX, PXX).

8.  Shutdown the currently executing ENF task.

9.  Restart the appropriate ENF task

a) If running with an external MUF, start the AD 15.0 MUF using ACT.INSTJCL member AD15STUP as an example. Once it completes startup, start ENFXMUF
b) If running with an internal MUF, start ENFIMUF.

Note: Verify that Datacom SQL PTF RO90470  is installed prior to starting ENF.

The following steps are optional and can be run now or at a later time.

10.  Customize and Submit ACT.INSTJCL member AXACTALC to allocate BACKUP datasets and add CA Datacom/AD JCLLIB members to the CUSTOM LIBRARIES

11.  Customize and Submit ACT.INSTJCL member AXACTDD1 to BACKUP the 14.0 CXX and the 14.0 DATADICTIONARY (DD) and DATA DEFINITION DIRECTORY (DDD) databases

12.  Customize and Submit ACT.INSTJCL member AXACTDD2 to set CXX feature defaults, upgrade the DD from 14.0 to 15.0, and backup the 15.0 CXX, DD and DDD databases

Method #2 - Build a fresh new Datacom/AD Version 15.0 MUF environment and customize it for ENF's use

The following steps will follow the "Starting Your Product" process as described in the Datacom/AD 15.0 documentation

4.  Customize and Submit INSTJCL member AXRIM01 to load Datacom PC routine

5.  Customize and Submit INSTJCL member AXCUSNEW to ASSEMBLE/LINK CUSTOM modules to the CUSTOM libraries.

6.  Customize and Submit INSTJCL member AXNEW01 to allocate all the MUF instance datasets and the databases.

7.  Customize and Submit INSTJCL member AD15STRT to start the 15.0 MUF. You should run with the default AXDATIN1 and AXDATIN2 values.

8.  Customize and Submit INSTJCL member AXIVP01 to execute the sample SQL driver program for the CA Datacom/AD  product.

The following steps will follow the "Customize CA Datacom/AD for CAIENF" process as described in the CA Common Services Installation Guide.

9.  Customize and Submit CA Common Services CAW0JCL member AW1ID001 to customize this new Datacom/AD 15.0 MUF for ENF's use.

11.  Shutdown the currently executing ENF task.

12.  Restart the appropriate ENF task
a) If running with an external MUF, start ENFXMUF. It should connect to the external MUF that was started in previous step #7.
b) If running with an internal MUF, first shutdown the AD 15.0 MUF using Datacom/AD INSTJCL member AD15STOP, then start ENFIMUF.
