Introduction:

How to upgrade Apache Tomcat web server used with CABI JasperSoft

Environment:
CA Service Desk Manager (CA SDM) 14.1 CUM#3 and higherCABI JasperSoft 6.xAny Supported CABI JasperSoft Windows OS
Instructions:

1.  Stop the existing Apache Tomcat service via the Windows Services Control Panel

2.  Download the required Apache Tomcat 32-bit/64-bit Windows Service Installer.  For example, 'apache-tomcat-8.5.11.exe' from https://tomcat.apache.org/download-80.cgi

3.  Via a command prompt launched with 'Run as Administrator', navigate to the existing Apache Tomcat 'bin' directory (i.e. C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 8.0\bin) and run the following command to remove the existing Apache Tomcat service

service.bat uninstall

Ensure via the Windows Services Control Panel that the existing Apache Tomcat service has been removed

4. Install new Apache Tomcat version downloaded in step #2 above.  Use a new directory to install the new Apache Tomcat version (i.e. C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 8.5) and use the same port to configure Apache Tomcat (i.e. 8080)

5.  Configure the Apache Tomcat Java options as documented at https://docops.ca.com/ca-business-intelligence/6-2-0/en/installing/installing-ca-business-intelligence/prerequisites

6.  Copy the following files from the previous Apache Tomcat install directory to the new Apache Tomcat install directory

lib/mariadb-java-client-1.1.2.jar

lib/postgresql-9.2-1002.jdbc4.jar

7.  Copy the webapps/jasperserver-pro directory from the previous Apache Tomcat install directory to the new Apache Tomcat install directory

8.  Via the Windows Services Control Panel, start the new Apache Tomcat service

9.  Access CABI JasperSoft via a supported web browser
