Introduction:

Under certain conditions you may need to uninstall or reinstall the licensing software.  Here is how to do it and where to find the Linux install files.

Go to the CA ALP License Update for Linux Installation Instructions on support.ca.com. It has complete directions for uninstalling and installing the license software on Linux as well as links to download the latest version of the software. You may need to log on to support.ca.com.

Uninstall

  1. First, take backups of the ca.olf file and the lic98.dat file.
  2. Scroll all the way down to Step 6 Uninstall on Linux/Unix and follow the instructions there, which are:
    "Where as uninstallation on Linux can be done in 2 ways:
    a.Either logon to the system as root and then on the console type 'rpm -e --nodeps ca-lic'.
    b.Or by invoking a uninstaller script 'rmlicense' residing in the CA Licensing installed folder(i.e. $CASHCOMP/ca_lic folder)"

Install

  1. Scroll all the way back to the top of the page to Step 1 Install may be done in either of 2 ways.  Links to installs for various operating systems are at the bottom of the page.
  2. Replace the existing ca.olf file and lic98.dat file with the files you backed up.
