Question:
We have an IDMS record that is LOCATION MODE DIRECT.
In a program we would move -1 to SUBSCHEMA-CTRL field DIRECT-DBKEY prior to STORE command.
How do we STORE this record using DMLO?
Answer:
DMLO also has access to SUBSCHEMA-CTRL fields such as DIRECT-DBKEY .

Use the DMLO MOVE command to move a value to DIRECT-DBKEY prior to STORE.

For Example:
In DMLO you can DISPLAY recname which will bring up the record layout.
Fill in all record data fields needed.
MOVE -1 to DIRECT-DBKEY
STORE recname

you can MOVE -1 or you can move a suggested dbkey in the decimal format DMLO expects (E.G.  751682-0001)  or move a hex dbkey value (E.G.  x'0B784201') .
