How to Setup the iReport client application

Note: iReport setup for Nimsoft and a quick start guide is attached to the article.

Add MS?SQL?Server JDBC?Driver

By Default, iReport supports only MySQL?backend database. To add support for MS?SQL?Server take following steps:

1- Download MS?SQl?Server JDBC driver from . Select the jtds-<version> file; the latest avaialbe as of Aug 14th 2011 is version 1.2.5

2- Unpack the downloaded driver to a convenient location, preferably under iReport install folder.

3- Now, open iReport Classpath from Tools->Options and click on Add Jar button and point it to unpacked jtds jar file e.g jtds-1.2.5.jar and click Open.

Setup iReport Environment


If you would like to design account aware reports, we recommend you design them using iReport and add support for our query executor. Then deploy the report to Unified Reporter and view the results. First you will need to setup iReport.

1- Choose Tools -> Options menu
2- Choose classpath tab + click Add Jar button

3- Navigate to <NMS wwith SDP|UMP install folder>/probes/service/wasp/webapps/jasperserver-pro/WEB-INF/lib
4- Choose ?acegi-security-1.0.1.jar? and click Open

5- Navigate to <NMS with SDP|UMP install folder>/probes/service/wasp/webapps/jasperserver-pro/WEB-INF/classes
6- Click Open

7- Click Add Jar again and point to sqljdbc.jar or sqljdbc4.jar file located under \wasp\lib folder.


8- Your window should now look like this (if you expand the columns).

9- Now select Query Executors tab and Click ?Add?
10 - Add these values (note that the language is nimsoft with lower case letters only):

Language = nimsoft
Factory Class = net.sf.jasperreports.engine.query.NimsoftQueryExecuterFactory
Fields provider =

11- Click Ok - your query executor should now be listed here.

12- Click Ok and the query executor should now be ready to use.

Please note, there is not 100% support for query executors in iReport 3.5.0, but the problems seem to be corrected in 3.6.0.
