Introduction:

The Enterprise, Domain and some of the scalability servers are in different time zones.

How to specify the local time deviation between the enterprise and domain managers and the local time deviation between a scalability server and its upstream domain manager?

Environment:
All versions of CA Client Automation
Instructions:

The deviation between a) Enterprise Manager and Domain Manager b) Domain Manager and Scalability Server can be configured using the configuration policy "Time Zone: Local time deviation between EM-DM and DM-SS)

This policy can be found in the DSM Explorer under Control Panel->Configuration->Configuration policy->DSM->software delivery->shared.
Default: 0

The value should be set in the configuration for each Scalability Server. In other words different policies should be created for each Scalability Server based on the time deviation. If the EM and DM are in different timezone then the deviation needs to be set for each DM (using separate policies).

Figure 1

Ex1: Suppose the Enterprise Manager is in the US and the Domain Manager is in the UK and there is a time difference of 5 hours (i.e., GMT-5) between them, then the value should be +5.

Ex2: If the Enterprise Manager is in the UK and the Domain Manager is in the US with a time difference of 5 hours, the value should be -5.

Note: DSM is Daylight Saving Time (DST) time tolerant and no modifications are required to the above policy during DST changes.
