How to restrict users from creating or editing Incident/Request templates?

Question:

How to restrict users from creating or editing Incident/Request templates? Users should be able to use templates to create tickets however should not be able to modify existing templates or create new ones.

Answer:

To achieve the above scenario we need data partition to be created for restricting the user from creating or editing Incident/request templates. 

1. Create data partition as below to restrict creation of Templates:

Table name : Call_Req

Constraint Type : Create

Constraint : template_name IS NULL

As specified in below screen shot:

2. Create data partitions as below to restrict users from editing Templates:

Table name : Call_Req

Constraint Type : 

Constraint : template_name IS NULL

 As mentioned in below screen shot:

Once this data partition is assigned to users contact or role, they will not be able to Create or Edit templates.
