Question:

How to resolve an error obtained when logging into CA Unified Self Service "this site is inactive. please contact the administrator"

 

Answer:

The error normally happens if the frontoffice site with in Liferay component of CA USS got deactivated.

One can check if this site is active or not by query the USS database by:

SELECT *
FROM [USS_mdb].[dbo].Group_ 
where friendlyURL IN ('/global', '/frontoffice', '/control_panel')

 

Look for active=1 value in those records.  If you see active=0, then that means the frontoffice site is inactive and needs to be set to 1. For this you can issue an SQL statement like:

update group_ set active_=1 where groupid = 10531

 

Restart CA USS and verify the issue is now resolved.
