How to reset the System Administration (CSA) password?

Summary:

Cannot login to CA PPM System Administration (CSA) application with password. Forgotten CSA password. Need to reset CSA password.

Instructions:

To change the CSA admin password:

  1. Open a command prompt on the Application Server
  2. Type the command 'admin password'
  3. You will be prompted to enter the current CSA password (if you forgot the password, see below)
  4. You will be prompted to enter a new CSA password and also to confirm the new password.

If you have forgotten the CSA password and need to reset:

  1. Delete the '.passwd' file located under [CLARITY_HOME]\config
  2. Start a command prompt on the Application Server
  3. Type the command 'admin password'
  4. You will be prompted to enter and confirm a new CSA password.

If the system is a clustered environment, these steps should be done to ALL installations involved in that cluster and they should be set to the SAME password. Restart all services when done resetting the CSA password.
