Introduction:

This document provides the steps for resetting the 'amadmin' password in the Agent Monitor application. In order to reset this password, you must know the Postgres password for 'amuser'. This is set during the Agent Monitor installation. If you do not know this password, you will not be able to reset the 'amadmin' password. The only other option would be to uninstall then reinstall Agent Monitor.

Instructions:

Linux:
[assumes installation directory is /opt/CA/wla_am]
Logon to the machine where Agent Monitor is running, open a command prompt and enter the following commands:
export PGDATA=/opt/CA/wla_am/data
cd /opt/CA/wla_am/pgsql/bin
./psql -U amuser -d amdb
[enter the PostgreSQL DB password]
delete from realm where type='INTERNAL';
\q
[Stop/Start Agent Monitor]

Windows:
[assumes installation directory is C:\Program Files\CA\wla_am]
Logon to the machine where Agent Monitor is running, open a command prompt and enter the following commands:
set PGDATA=C:\Program Files\CA\wla_am\data
cd "C:\Program Files\CA\wla_am\pgsql\bin"
psql -U amuser -d amdb
[enter the PostgreSQL DB password]
delete from realm where type='INTERNAL';
\q
[Stop/Start Agent Monitor]

This will cause Agent Monitor to revert back to the default local administrator password (amadmin / amadmin@1)
