Introduction:

To prevent users from sending a mass sendevent command to all the jobs on an AE Server, you can remove the Send Server Event options from the Monitoring Tab. Removing this option will not remove the ability to use sendevent commands such as STARTJOB, FORCE_STARTJOB, etc.

Environment:
CA Workload Control Center r11.4.X
Instructions:

To remove the Send Server Event option from WCC:

1. Login to the EEM GUI under the WCC0004 application

2. Click on Manage Access Policies tab

3. On the left, click on the ConfigurationControl access policy

4. Click on the ConfigurationControlEventDefault policy

5. Click the Save As button and give your policy a name (for example - DenyServerSendEvent)

6. Check off the Explicit Deny checkbox

7. Remove all of the default dynamic user groups (Commander, ConsoleOperator, Scheduler, Supervisor) [if you are using Actrive Directory]

8. Add the users and/or groups you do not want to have access to the Send Server Event

9. Add the following Resource: Monitoring/Event

10. Delete the following Resource: */Event

11. Save the policy

When users right click on the name of the server, they will no longer see the Send Server Event options but when they go to the QuickView Tab (or right click on their jobs in the Monitoring Tab), they still have access to the other sendevent commands.
