Introduction:

With all version of CA Client Automation, prior to R12.9 when installing CA Asset Management Agent plug-in,

the CA Asset Management Performance LiteAgent and CA Systems Performance LiteAgent are automatically installed

in order to collect inventory about System Performance like CPU % Usage

(which appears in DSM Console under Inventory/Additional/Systems Performance).

These components are installed under ....\CA\SC\Systems Performance LiteAgent,

Question:

How do I remove the CA Asset Management Performance LiteAgent?

Environment:

CA Client Automation - All Versions

Answer:

These Performance LiteAgents give snapshots of memory and CPU usage, but they were found to be unreliable, and the agent itself

was found to cause high CPU , further invalidating the results, so these plugins are no longer included with R12.9 and R14,

but if the agent was upgraded from a previous version, these plugins will still be installed.

If the "System Performance" inventory is not needed in your environment, it is possible to uninstall the

CA Asset Management Performance LiteAgent and CA Systems Performance LiteAgent using the following commands:

For "CA Asset Management Performance LiteAgent":
msiexec /x {B6588B4E-CF7C-4FF7-AC15-62A8FFD2A506} /qn

For "CA Systems Performance LiteAgent":
msiexec /x {019094B6-40C9-45AE-A799-CCA2D6AA66A6} /qn

Note: There is no parameter to prevent the installation of these components during the installation of CA ITCM Asset Management Agent plug-in.

A workaround is to remove the directory PMLA and PMLA_Client from the AgentAM directory from the installation source.
