Issue:

CA Identity Manager get installed to a UNIX server. Normally  following command on Unix server to remove  CA Identity Manager

To uninstall CA IdentityMinder components on UNIX

  1. Navigate to the following location:
    IM_HOME/../IAM_Suite/IdentityManager/install_config_info/iam-suite-uninstall
  2. Run the following script:
    sh uninstall.sh
  3. Navigate to the following location:

    IM_HOME/install_config_info/im-uninstall

  4. Run the following script:
    sh uninstall.sh
  5. For any provisioning components, use the individual component installer to uninstall the component.

But in this case Itcm  Asset manager inventory reports  CA Identity Manager software running on Itcm Agent machines  after running uninstall command.

Environment:

CA Client Automation - All Versions

Cause:

The Identity manager software was removed after running uninstall,

but it left behind the  cafhost file   in the  /opt/CA/SharedComponents/ccs/cam/bin/cafthost file

with a certain size 4711kb which is what the signature Signature Scanner was using to decide

if the following programs were installed :

  • CA Identity Manager - Agent 12.6.6 [Unix] - 12.6.6
  • CA Identity Manager - Agent 12.6.7 [Unix] - 12.6.7
  • CA Identity Manager - Agent 12.6.8 [Unix] - 12.6.8

Resolution:

1.   Verify the Size of the cafthost file size  and also compare it to another cafhost file where
the agent is not reporting CA Identity Manager.

2.  Copy the good cafthost  to  /opt/CA/SharedComponents/ccs/cam/bin/

3.   Run:

          caf stop

          caf start

          Re-run software inventory

4. Check the Agent on the Domain Manager

Under Discovered Software - Was the Identity Manager software removed ?
