Introduction:

This document presents how to recycle Tomcat only for Support Automation instead for recycling the entire Service Desk.

Background:

When troubleshooting Support Automation, administrators want a way to recycle Tomcat only for Support Automation instead of recycling the entire Service Desk. It makes the troubleshooting faster and easier.

Environment:
Service Desk 12.9Service Desk 14.1
Instructions:

Stopping Tomcat for Support Automation:

pdm_tomcat_nxd -c STOP -t SA

Take a look at NX_ROOT\log\pdm_tomcat_SA.log and you will see the entries below:

INFO: A valid shutdown command was received via the shutdown port. Stopping the Server instance.
org.apache.coyote.AbstractProtocol pause
INFO: Pausing ProtocolHandler ["http-bio-8070"]
org.apache.catalina.core.StandardService stopInternal
INFO: Stopping service Catalina

Starting Tomcat for Support Automation:

pdm_tomcat_nxd -c START -t SA

Take a look at NX_ROOT\log\pdm_tomcat_SA.log and you will see the entries below:

org.apache.coyote.AbstractProtocol start
INFO: Starting ProtocolHandler ["http-bio-8070"]
org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina start
INFO: Server startup in 7732 ms
.
The standalone server started successfully.
