Question:
How to point Unified Self-Service (USS) application to another remote database server where a copy of "USS_mdb" was restored?
Environment:
CA Unified Self-Service - USS r14.x and 17.x
Answer:
Please follow below steps:

1. Make a copy of "USS_mdb" from the source database server to the target database server (eg., using backup/restore tasks at Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio tool).

2. After the restore is complete at the target remote database server, validate if it is possible to login with the "USS_mdb" database user account "ussdbadmin" in MS-SQL Server Management Studio, then navigate to the folder "Tables" located under the "USS_mdb" database and check that all tables are displayed.

3. Navigate to the file  "portal-ext.properties" which is located in the directory "...\Program Files\CA\Self Service\OSOP".

4. Stop the Unified Self-Service services.

5. Change the following parameters that are right at the beginning of the file.
