Question:

We have a question about V3 modeling through Spectrum Web Service API. For adding v1 and v2 models, we can use the "communitystring =" statement as part of the post. How does that work for v3?

Answer:

When using the Spectrum Web Service API to model SNMPv3 devices, use the following format to specify the SNMPv3 community string for the "communitystring =" parameter:

#v3/P:myAuthPW:myPrivPW/myUserID

The following is an example:

http://spectrum:8080/spectrum/restful/model?landscapeid=0x100000&commstring=#v3/P:authpassword:privpassword/AuthPrivUser&ipaddress=1.1.1.1
