Question:
What steps are needed to copy the Datasets (and tapes) from the old Catalog/VTS to a new Catalog/VTS?

Answer:
Taking the following sample information:

- New catalog (already in use) in ALTH1.
- Old catalog located in ALTH2.
- One RMSMASTR controlling ATLH1 and ATLH2.

Include the two libraries in CADYNAMT SYSPROF:
IBMLIB ATLH1VTS 2 76F9 7FFF
IBMLIB ATLH2 1 05C0 05CF

In VSE, update DYNAM/T Options:
CUI, 4 file management, 1 system Option, 2 Dynam/t, 1 System Options:
Set Default Owner (CAYD-1213)
-> Our owner for ATLH1VTS was already 28.
MODON 23=ON (CAYD-1216)
-> This allows for owner to determine what VTS is to be used. Default owner 28 will default to VTS ATLH1VTS with scratch pool 8.

Add Dataset and Tapes

Create Datasets with default Owner as set in CAYD-1213
-> Datasets from the old catalog are now included in the new catalog, with owner 28.
Create old Tapes, assign owner 1B
-> Tapes belonging to the datasets are listed with the owner for ATLH2.

Use TDYNCOPY to copy the tape
// JOB TDYNCOPY
* The old tape from ATLH2, configured with owner 1B
// TLBL UIN,'CAT102',,BQ1389
* Mount scratch from ATLH1VTS, default owner 28
// TLBL UOUT,'CAT102'
// EXEC TDYNCOPY,SIZE=(AUTO,64K)
/*

The Datasets are now copied to new tapes in ATLH1VTS, owner 28.
