When getting message SARDBI01 Data FILE ALLOCATION FAILED FOR database -ERROR=1708, INFO=0002 DS=nnn
You need to create/restore the missing file before you can go any further....
This message will appear when trying to add extra space or requesting a status on a database. View is unable to find a dataset which it considers is part of the database. This could have been caused by the dataset being renamed/deleted or as a result of a previously run failed job to add space.
Therefore the missing file has to be recreated, & may require it to be restored.
To create & initialise the missing dataset, you create a new database with a new name, (See System Reference Guide Chapter 7 Database Utilities parm ADDDS). Then rename the file required to the missing file name.
