Introduction:

Provided that the hotfixes for UNAB or ControlMinder have been applied using the uxpatcher on Linux/Unix or tfinstall on Windows, respectively, we can utilise the information set on that endpoint with the Enterprise Manager to e.g. create a dynamic host group which is listing all the members having the relevant patch applied

Instructions:

ENTM can utilise the information which were put on the various endpoints by the uxpatcher / tfinstall utility and display the information about the applied patches on these endpoints:

ENTM showing the list of applied patches

It is also possible to create a dynamic hostgroup with all the relevant boxes this patch has been successfully deployed to.

To do so on the ENTM box open a selang prompt and enter:

     AC> host DMS__@

     AC> editres GHNODE ("Patched_Boxes") criteria+(HNODE_SUPPORT_INFO=*T4A7082*)

Note, replace T4A7082 with the actual fix you want to query for.

Next time the policyfetcher on the relevant endpoint is sending a heartbeat to the DMS it will update the hostgroup accordingly.
